5 Facebook Banner Ad Design Resources

As a Facebook advertiser, if you’re not part of a large agency, you’re probably trying to wear a lot of different hats.

You’re probably trying to do it all while keeping your ads fresh month to month. As part of your day to day gig you’re trying to be proficient at:

  • Great sale copy
  • Ongoing analysis and refinement of your campaigns
  • Finding new target audiences
  • Setting up retarget
  • Creating great lead generation ads
  • AND often trying to design the creative to go with all your ads

It’s hard to do it all AND keep coming up with well designed (and fresh) creative each month. So here are a couple of resources you can use to source fresh banners and videos for your ads.

1. 99designs

99designs has been around for over 10 years and recently released “Find a Designer”, where you can search for and work with designer who specialise in banner ad design. Basically you start a project, write a brief, then invite qualified designers to quote on your job.

2. Dribbble

Similar to 99designs, but lacking the advanced search functionality and designer community, Dribbble lets you browse designers and find someone with a style you’re looking for.

3. Upwork

Another freelance website, on Upwork you can search for designers who’ve designed Facebook banners before and ask them to quote on your work. You don’t have access to view portfolios as you do with 99designs and Dribbble.

4. Video Hive from Envato

I’ve had some great success with adding short stock video clips as video features to ads. Nothing fancy, just download something that’s relevant to your copy. We all know video works well on Facebook, with Video Hive you can download a stock video from around $8.

5. Canva

If you’re a little more hands on with your creative, then Canva is worth a try for designing quick banners. They have a heap of ready made templates so if you’re not too fussy, it’s an easy way to iterate on your banner ad designs. They have a large stock photography database too.
